Cotton Long Tying Scarf
Volume by fibre

Volume by fabric

At Suburban Turban we do things a little differently – we understand that you might be drawn to a scarf for its print, glorious colour, and size. BUT don’t forget the fabric itself!

You can wrap your scarf in exactly the same way using a viscose scarf, a silk scarf, or a cotton scarf, and it will give you a different head wrap shape. So, we group our scarves by fabric type so that you can see just what sort of volume you can achieve with your headwear.

Genius! But why is that so important? Well, volume around our faces is flattering to wear, it softens the profile and we can place a scarf where we need more height, or width around our face shape.

Sizing for hats

Our handmade hats are available in S, M and L sizes so they are chic and comfy!

If you have ever had problems finding a hat to fit, we can help. We design our hats with enough fabric to look their best worn low on the neck.  Our sized stretch return on our jersey hats means a snug fit, but not a tight fit.

Headwear options for hair loss

You’re in good hands with our founder, and Head Milliner, Nicky Zip.

Nicky trained as a milliner in London and has 26 years experience designing and making bespoke stylish headwear.

Each piece is specifically designed for hair loss. The fabrics and shapes are all taken into account.  Our headwear is so much more than a practical covering. ‘How will the wearer feel wearing it?’ We know we can make comfortable headwear, but if the wearer feels good in it, suddenly the hat creates confidence.
