Hats for women with hair loss
Alma
'Pretty in pink' soft jersey pull on turban based on the Kimmy style but with the subtle addition of decorative flowers on the side. The flowers are made from the same trim fabric as the front of the hat and flop over on each other.
Once again this could be described as the 'long sleeve t-shirt' of a comfy everday turban style. It's not overly dressy but just adds a little something to any outfit you care to put it with. It launches in 2 colours 'Pretty in pink' - a great colour for the summer months and Soapstone - super useful neutral shade to co-ordinate with. A new colour for Autumn/Winter is Mauve - this colour has lots of grey in it, so it makes for a warm soft dusky shade.
Base hat jersey is 95% viscose and trim fabric is a mix of viscose and polyester. Washable by hand or by machine at 30C. No need to press, just shake and leave to dry.
Bea
A new urban turban for Spring/Summer - Bea has already met with a great response from ladies who have previewed this style. A close fitting hat with a pretty trim stitched with a contrasting pink thread. Bea can see you right through the day - from a visit to the hospital and needing a little post chemo chic, to meeting up with the girls looking pretty and feminine.
The Bea Beautiful jersey colour is super versatile though tricky to describe! Warm mushroom is probably closest, a soft mid brown with a hint of grey to it. The latest addition to the range 'Ascot Black' has met with a great reception too. The fabric wrapped around the hat gives it softness, making it easy to wear and flattering around the face. It is cut low at the nape of the neck and shaped around the face - this really is a savvy 'pull on and go' style!
Bobbi
Bobbi is a jaunty cap for spring/summer, it is made in super soft fabric with no hard plastic peak inserts to make your forehead itch. Great for days on the beach or everyday 'stuff' - like walking the dog!
The style is made in lightweight viscose jersey (click on swatch for closer inspection), it feels like a cool t-shirt on your head. With its soft crushable brim, ruffled fabric drape around the hat to disguise head shape and no cut out at the nape of the neck, this is a savvy baseball cap for womens hair loss.
The two button trim just above the peak completes the detail at the front of the cap. This style is elasticated at the nape of the neck and cut deeper to provide complete confident coverage. The new colour Greige has just launched for Spring/Summer.
Carrie
A new soft peaked hair loss cap for summer - no cut outs at the back, just a soft elastic headband for a secure fit. Beautiful shade of dusky mauve, made from viscose jersey with contrasting lightweight trim fabric. The flower is 'low key' and casual (see swatch for a closer look!) Caps can be great in the warmer weather - they protect your head from the sun, shade dry eyes and can provide a cooler alternative to a wig. Well worth a try, if you've not tried them before.
Gemma
Gemma a new daywear style for relaxed wear in a supersoft, lightweight jersey for cool summer wear. This is a pre-tied 'pull on' turban, although it has the look of jersey scarf wrapped around the head. It sits low at the nape of the neck and the knot sits low over the wearer's left ear. The fine pinstripe fabric gives this style for womens hair loss a fresh summery look. Please take a closer look at the swatches for more fabric detail - monitor permitting!
New colours added for the summer - French Denim Blue, a plain viscose spandex jersey with a lovely silky feel to it, in a beautiful shade of dark lavender blue. Great for wearing with jeans and cool summer tops. A new navy pinstripe version has also arrived in the viscose lycra jersey - all you need now is the yacht to complete your outfit!
Gemma 2 - Print
Gemma has been so popular over the summer we have added a new version for Autumn in a soft printed jersey. Great colours - Jean Blue and Mushroom - to match up easily with items in your wardrobe. This is a pre-tied 'pull on' turban for womens hair loss, although it has the look of a jersey scarf wrapped around the head. It sits low at the nape of the neck and the knot sits low over the wearer's left ear. Please take a closer look at the swatches for more fabric detail - monitor permitting!
An easy flattering style to wear, because the fabric draped around the hat disguises defined headshape and the soft knot on the side adds interest distracting the eye. This is just a great little jersey hat, useful to keep in your bag and marvellously uplifting and chic when you put it on - every time!
Gemma Summer Floral
Gemma has been such a popular style we have added a new print for Summer in a soft floral print viscose jersey. Great colours - cerise, fuschia, white, blues, greens, white and soft taupe - so lots of options for what to wear it with!

Please note trim may vary slightly according to fabric print.
Inga
Inga is a new style for Autumn/Winter and comes in super soft stretch jersey. This chic under stated style looks great with knitwear or equally smart with business wear if you're wondered what to wear back to the office.
Inga is a comtemporary update on the turban style and is cut low at the nape of the neck for complete confident coverage (see photos). Softly draped all the way round to add flattering volume to your head shape and it has a certain savoir faire about it i.e it will work in any situation you care to wear it!
Initially it is available in two colours more will be added later.
Jeannie
This barge cap style is made from soft viscose jersey with no baseball cap 'cut out' at the back. In fact it is cut nice and low onto the nape of the neck, with an elasticated headband for maximum secure and confident fit. This cap is slightly warmer than some of other cap styles due to the deep fold of fabric that runs all the way round the cap. This adds soft volume around your head to disguise that defined head shape and there is also a twisted jersey rope detail at the front - which gives the style a nautical jaunty look! This is a hat for Alopecia with a stylish difference!
Due to feedback we've received from our lovely hat wearing fashionistas this style will be produced in a range of dark plain colours. Purple Ink Blue and Grape are the first colours to appear in this new style. If you like the style, but would like to see it in a different colour, give us a call and we can always check our fabric stocks.
Kimberley
Kimmy has been such a success with our clients we thought we'd bring out a casual print version. This style we've called Kimberley (sister of Kim!) but it is still the same beautifully simple turban for womens hair loss. It is made from a beautifully soft viscose jersey with a lovely stretch return - so it doesn't hug the head too tightly. There is a gathered fabric section at the front, which you can position once on. This adds soft volume around the face and makes it a chic stylish turban to wear.
This is an easy 'pull on and go' hair loss turban, because with minimal effort it looks good and the print disguises defined head shape well. It incorporates some lovely colours - acqua and denim blue, navy, ochre, pale sea green! So there is plenty of scope as to what to match it up with, as no one colour seems to dominate the design. This is a useful style to keep in your handbag, if you're suddenly overcome in the afternoon sun wearing your wig.
Kimmy
Super soft jersey turban for hair loss, beautifully simple and unfussy. There is a gathered fabric section at the front, which you can position once on. This adds soft volume around the face and makes it a chic stylish turban to wear. Kimmy is new for Autumn/Winter and is initially released in two colours, more will be coming!
This is the ultimate in 'pull on and go' hair loss headwear, because with minimal effort it looks elegant during the day or you can make it super dressy for the evening and accessorise with a scarf. For further ideas see model shots here and on our new silk scarf page. Our model is shown wearing a long tying silk headband in Cairo Black (available on the site). We're confident once you've tried this style and found how versatile and comfortable it is to wear, you'll want one in every colour!
Kimmy Pastel
Thanks for all your lovely feedback about the very wearable Kimmy style - its simple design seems to make it the 'long sleeve tee' of turbans. So with warmer weather just round the corner(!), we thought we'd bring out some summery shades - soft sky blue, turquoise and the palest cream. Should you find yourself off to an exotic destination needing suitably chic headwear to dress up or down, don't forget to pop Kimmy in your bag!
Super soft viscose jersey turban for hair loss with a gathered fabric section at the front, which you can position once on. This adds soft volume around the face, and also provides a good base for when you want to ring the changes and put a pretty scarf around it.
This is useful 'pull on and go' hair loss headwear - with minimal effort it looks elegant during the day or you can make it super stylish for the evening and accessorise with a scarf, earrings (and lippy of course!) For further ideas see model shots here and on our silk scarf pages. We're confident once you've tried this style and found how versatile and comfortable it is to wear, you'll want one in every colour!
Lana 2
Lana 2 is the same wearable style but now released in a soft mauve for 'summer'! The peak has no hard inserts so it won't draw your forehead after a few hours wear and can be easily scrunched up in your handbag, should you feel like a change half way through your day. This style is a great indoor or outdoor style, it isn't too thick and the jersey is super comfy - this style really is 'all day' wear.
The same flattering volume on the crown disguises and softens the head profile. Cut low at the nape of the neck, and elasticated for assured secure fit. We think as baseball caps go this is pretty, feminine and workable headwear for womens hair loss. It looks savvy at home or out and about in town. Made from viscose jersey, it comes sized to fit and is marvellously washable at 30C!
Lizzie
Following the great comments we've received about Pella, we've decided to do more of a day wear option. We know some of our customers are already wearing Pella through the day as well, but we thought we'd add a few more soft fashion colours and add in a little flattering 'va va voom' and call it Lizzie! This is a style that just 'looks' pretty! The jersey is super soft to wear and the draped wrap around the hat doesn't hug the head too tightly. This adds soft volume around the face that can be positioned as you choose and the flower detail off to one side adds some height. If you are wondering what to buy your nearest and dearest as they manage their hair loss, this is an 'easy wear'(not too fussy), and Lizzie has a certain understated elegance about her! ...Infact we could all do with a little Lizzie!
Selina
It's that time of year again when long sleeve t-shirts come out - they're a useful basic and layer up with just about anything. I wanted to create the equivalent 'T-shirt hat' that gave the same casual flexibility and style. I hope you like Selina, a casual jersey style easy to pull on and wear. The flower is cut quite close to the hat, so as not to be too showy and has both colours running through it. The mauve/mushroom colour combination is slightly unusual but works beautifully together.
This turban for womens hair loss is made out of soft viscose lycra jersey and machine washable at 30C.
Tina
This contemporary Baker Boy cap adaptation is super comfy and soooo stylish! It is cut nice and low at the neck, and elasticated so that you can choose to wear it full over the ears (like our model) or partially for those moments when you can't hear on the phone. This soft lightweight cap really doesn't look like a cap for hair loss. The trim jersey is 100% wool and contains colours of moss greens, mauve, chocolate and mid brown, ochre - great shades for autumn/winter and it gives the style a slightly retro feel.
This is a casual style that blends in well with the current fashion trends and looks equally good with chunky sweaters or winter coats. The base mauve jersey is a lovely vibrant colour to wear around the face, adding flattering warmth to lift skin tone, if you're having a pale tired day. This is another 'pull on and go' style which requires minimum tweaking - easy wear to look good in!
Winter hats for women with hair loss
Alice Hannah seed pearl headband
These pretty Alice Hannah knitted headbands are a great way of keeping your head warm as the temperatures drop into winter. Worn over your favourite jersey hat, if you're experiencing complete hair loss. Or nice and wide if you are experiencing patchy Alopecia hair loss - they're useful. Made from lambswool with a small percentage of angora, these headbands are super soft and cosy. We hope you'll agree they don't look like hair loss wear at all - just pretty and feminine.
Heather
Snug turban for Spring to keep the cold winds at bay. Heather is a stylish, casual take on the turban style. Super soft viscose jersey forms the base turban, with a soft acrylic knit draped around the outside of the turban. The drape provides soft volume all around the hat and some additional height at the front - much easier and soooooo flattering to wear. It comes in just the one colour - soft coffee marl. It looks good when worn with a coat for outdoor wear but also 'fits in' with a cardigan or indeed any other form of knitwear, for a great casual but elegant look!
Heather 2
Snug turban for womens hair loss this Winter - two new colours released just in time for the snow! This stylish, casual take on the turban style has been so successful it is now available in - Mulberry and Midnight Blue. Super soft viscose jersey forms the base turban, with a soft acrylic rib knit draped around the outside of the turban. The drape provides soft volume all around the hat and some additional height at the front - much easier to wear and flattering too!
It looks good when worn with a coat or jacket for outdoor wear, but equally 'fits in' well with any form of knitwear - jumpers and cardies. The little beading detail at the front - bugle and seed beads, (take a look a the swatches for a closer look) - completes the under stated elegance of this style. Needs a little TLC because of the beads - handwash inside out.
Penny
Suburban Turban brings you a stylish collection of winter felts in fabulous colours collected from around Europe. All come in lovely soft felted wool and look snug (think January and you'll see where we're coming from!) and give excellent coverage. Penny is super soft and super stylish and its roll brim can be adjusted front and back.
If you're wondering how to do two things at once i.e keep your head warm over the winter months, but not overheat when you come inside, then you might want to read on - Why wear one when you can wear two!
Ruby
Ruby is a lightweight rib knit beret great to wear with winter polo necks, jackets and coats. It has a 'super fit' viscose jersey liner to prevent it slipping down/moving around and is a really stylish alternative to the more traditional turban look. (The inner viscose layer also avoids any sensitive scalp issues.) The hat 'looks right' both indoors and out and its lightweight construction means you shouldn't overheat - real all day wear you can forget about.
At a recent charity fashion event in aid of the Fountain Centre, we worked with 12 patients. All looked fabulous and strode out with confidence down the catwalk. This was the style of the night, with all our lovely models finding it easy and flattering to wear. If you have discounted berets in the past - think again. This style provides a soft fullness to the face, adding width and height and if you so choose to wear it with a little striped T-shirt, perhaps a little Parisian chic as well!
* washable COLD
* sized to fit in small, medium and large
* low nape of neck coverage
* elasticated back
* super soft viscose base fabrics
Serafina
Unusal winter beret style trimmed with plum coloured silk velvet, so the band is beautifully soft round the face. As usual the style is elasticated for maximum prolonged comfort wear and it looks good on with an outdoor coat or this season's knitwear. It also looks good from all angles with the wool/synthetic fleece material spiralling in two shades of grey at the back of the hat. This style also has a super soft viscose jersey turban lining to avoid any unwanted 'itchy' moments! (Therefore the outer fleece material doesn't come into contact with your skin at all.) We think it really works as a super stylish, fashionable hat for hair loss! Hope you'll agree!
Scarves for women with hair loss
Long turban tying scarves
Suburban Turban presents its range of long turban tying scarves, for turban tying in pretty fashion colours. There are approximately 25 shades in the range at any one time with seasonal colours added throughout the year. They measure 110 cms x 180 cms approx. and you'll notice that they are all completely plain without any tassles. The crinkled cotton adds texture and fullness, softening the outline of the head. It also means that once tied they will stay put and not unravel on you, which makes them excellent chemo scarves for women undergoing treatment.
If you are unsure about Indian turban tying, take a quick look at our instructions before discarding the idea completely - you might be surprised at just how easy it can be.

Annie - wig liner
Annie is a super soft wig liner. Did you ever wonder how those lovely chaps back in the 1970s cycling in the Tour de France kept their caps on? Probably not, but Annie is constructed in the same way! So this very practical item is actually rather clever. It won't ride up underneath because it has been shaped to the head and is available in 3 sizes. The jersey is super soft and provides a lovely comfy barrier between your scalp and the wig net. Katia is modelling it with the seams on the outside (see swatch) for maximum scalp comfort. Simply tap in your head measurement and we'll do the rest, selecting the best size to fit your head.
Ava
Beautiful Ava - if you have an evening do coming up and you're feeling 'featherless' and need something chic, let us introduce you to Ava. Silky satin turban for womens hair loss hat comes with a Swarvoski crystal brooch to help you look 'turban-tastic'!
Ava is made from viscose lycra jersey, with a polyester satin trim, draped over to one side and stitched in place. Depending on where you're going and how you're feeling, you can up the 'oomph' factor and wear with brooch or without for a more subtle approach. Sits nice and deep on the neck and fits snug to the head underneath, so she won't slide down or go askew. This cocktail hat could really become a girl's best friend.....
Beatrix
New for the festive social season Beatrix is the 'little black dress' of hair loss fashion turbans! Dramatic and chic this soft jersey evening turban could take you anywhere. We all need some good times with good friends when we can relax. No one should feel they can't get out and about because they don't have the right headwear to help them 'blend' in to the situation. This close fitting cloche hat is super stylish without being overly fussy. However be warned you are bound to receive compliments when wearing it! Base hat and trim is made from soft viscose jersey, with additional stretch satin detailing. Fab-u-lous!
Bella
Oh so stylish turban for the office! Super soft viscose jersey for the base turban, with a multi-coloured jewel like synthetic trim fabric that drapes softly over the top. The insert detail on wearer's left is done with soft sheen black satin stretch fabric.
Great to co-ordinate with as no one colour dominates the hat, so plenty of colour options to pick out. If your office heating is of the 'tropics' variety and you need something to keep your cool in, Bella could be the style for you!
Diva
If the office party looms large or you have an important social fixture coming up and feel you have nothing to wear, than this sequined cocktail hat might just be the thing. This beautiful little hat provides a classic touch of glamour.
The base hat is made of sateen effect cotton/polyester mix jersey with a sequined jersey used for the trim. The drape section falls softly to the wearer's left side and is in filled with with black satin.
We hope you'll agree it creates a stunning look for evening.
Flat Rose - hat accessory brooch
Beautiful sized rose brooch for adding a touch of instant elegance to your hair loss headwear. (The rose is approximately 7cms square.) Why flat? This is particularly good as the rose flower sits flat to the hat once you pin it on i.e. it doesn't bob about and flop out from the hat.
This little stylish flower comes in two beautiful colours - a metallic bronze and a slightly metallic dusky pink. Another little known fact (which no one will know), unless you tell them, is that they are waterproof! Is there a particular reason for this? No, but the water resistent fabric creases beautifully and helps it stay flat - even in the rain!
If you're looking to add a little 'oomph' to your headwear and have an event in mind these will add instant fabulous-ness!
Jersey Flowers
If you're returning to work and want to instantly update existing headwear or simply want to add a splash of this season's colours to an outfit, take a look at these sweet little jersey flowers. These soft jersey turban accessories come in a range of 6 fab colours for the Autumn and their soft, casual styling means you won't feel 'over done'! Savvy 'Suburbanites' have been on the email requesting some pretty hat accessories to wear throughout the day.
Our pictures show them singularly but don't be afraid to 'bunch' them in 2's or 3's depending on how much volume your face and head shape suits. These flower hat pins fasten with a metal pin clasp on the reverse side. (This could easily be removed, leaving the flower intact and stitched to your favourite headwear, the fabric is washable.) The tricky bit is deciding which colours to choose! Actual size is approx 7cms square.
Of course they do make fabulous brooch pins as well for a jacket or winter coat lapel!
**** LAST FEW REMAINING ****
Miss Jones
Thinking of heading back to work and need a chic turban to carry you through? 'Miss Jones' might be just what you are looking for. Super fine viscose jersey trim drapes around the hat in a contemporary stripe (see close-up swatch) in black, greys and white. Because the jersey is such a fine gauge it drapes beautifully and doesn't add too much 'tog factor' when you're wearing it in the office. The trim is overlaid on a black viscose jersey hat, so it is super easy pull on and go wear.
Or maybe you are looking for a womens hair loss turban with a little understated elegance for a summer occasion. This is an interesting style in that it is totally transformed from the bag when you put it on. There is a definite 'Garbo-esque' quality to it - instant glamour! Shaped and cut low at the nape of the neck and of course available in our usual 3 sizes - S, M, L - please enter your head fitting and we'll size accordingly. This stylish turban could easily take you through the day and onto dinner at a restaurant of your choice! No guarantees if you buy the style this will happen, but at least you'll be prepared!
Suzie
The beautiful Suzie style is a dream turban to wear, made from soft modal lycra jersey. Why? Because it is super cool to wear and feels like nothing on your head. The fabric drapes well due to its silky fibre and appearance.
Suzie based on the flattering Ava shape, conceals defined head shape under soft folds of jersey, gathered up to one side in a pretty 'flower' motif. This is created from a soft jersey knit ribbon in the same Mulberry colour, (please take a closer look at the swatch). We've matched with an evening frock but it looks equally good with a linen top, see bottom picture. This style has some stylish 'oomph' about it - put it on and whatever sort of day you're having, you'll know you look good. Deep jewel like colours work well at 'revitalising' a pale complexion, helping you to feel good too.

Version 1 is a straightforward 6 step 5 minute job and it really doesn't take long to get the hang of it.
The great thing about scarves is that they look equally good whether you're on the beach/at the hotel or dressed up with lippy for lunch out with the girls! They can also be worn with our fringe wig successfully, if you need a cooler look for summer but can't do without some hair on show.
Seagrass Scarf Wrap
Beautiful long chemo head scarf with a difference - made in cool viscose and linen mix. The colours are lovely together a soft sea green and denim blue, which makes this a super wearable item for the summer.
The woven pattern to the scarf adds interest and detail from 'all angles'. Scarf is nice and long and wide, so you can securely tie it once and forget about it all day. There is a cream tassle fringe to it but this can either be worn to effect or tucked away. All in all a chic look for chemo wear and a super fashion look for summer.
Summer Checks
Super long scarf for wrapping in 'fuller' styles around the head. Reminds me of summer sarong kikoy type print - although these scarves come in a lighter weight fabric, viscose and polyester mix (but still lovely to the touch!) We wouldn't normally buy a scarf with a fringe but with this fabric it just seemed to work - feel free to trim, should you wish to! If you are planning a holiday excursion that involves sun and long sandy beaches this could be a great look for protecting your head and of course looking super chic! However too hot and you may find a cooler fabric during the day to be easier wear.
Colour combinations are best described as mauve and pale coffee, and teal green and coffee. The material also has a slight seersucker 'effect' to it, please take a closer look at the swatch.
Summer Garden Scarf
Long viscose head scarf for chemo in a beautiful summer print that comes in 2 colourways. The print consists of two different floral panels and a co-ordinating striped panel, so as you wrap the scarf around your head all the colours are visible from all angles. Great scarf to disguise head shape with all the print texture.
It is available in 3 colours - a pinks version, a blue/teal version (see bottom right pic), navy/lime and tomato red (see swatch) - however all versions contain many colours. Take a closer look at the swatch to gauge and see the texture of the fabric. Short corded tassle on the ends which can be easily hidden or used to effect.
Teal graduated long tying scarf
A new range of long tying turban scarves for Spring/Summer. These pretty scarves come in great fashion colours and their soft graduated colouring adds detail and interest when tied. We call this beautiful colour teal, but it could also be described as shades of sea green. They measure the same as our other cotton long tying scarf range. The crinkled cotton adds texture and fullness, softening the outline of the head. It also means that once tied they will stay put and not unravel on you, which makes them excellent scarves for chemo patients. They make a really useful item for summer, (whether you're experiencing womens hair loss or not), offering a really wearable, casual look for holidays.
If you are unsure about Indian turban tying, take a quick look at our instructions before discarding the idea completely - you might be surprised at just how easy it can be.

Headbands for women with hair loss
Headbands for patchy hair loss
If you are experiencing patchy hair loss, undergoing radiotherapy on your head or have visibly thinning hair, headbands can be a really useful hair accessory. They help 'place' remaining hair and gently hold it in position throughout the day. Why not take a look at our latest article in the Lounge written by Liz G, who gives valuable insight into coping with the early stages of hair loss.
This scarf range comes in beautiful rich fashion colours, and they really are an easily flattering accessory to wear. 100% silk these little scarves are hand dyed and shaded in exquisite colours. They tick so many boxes I'm not sure where to begin! Firstly they are in super lightweight crinkled silk, so they feel like nothing on your head but STAY in position without you having to tie them so tight they stop blood circulation.
They are creased diagonally across the scarf so they drape and hug the head well. You can twist them and create a narrow headband or smooth them out and create a wider headband depending on your 'hair day'. You can even fold them in half to form a triangle and wear them as a bandana. This makes them twice as useful as scarves for chemotherapy patients, where initially more coverage may be needed but in the early stages of hair growth can also provide pretty coverage to soften the head shape. Not forgetting of course that you can layer them and wear them together in contrasting or matching colours.
They are just the right dimensions to go round your head once to tie either at the back, front or side, and still have enough left for the scarf ends to form little corkscrews to 'dangle interestingly'. The soft sheen to the silk fabric makes these little scarves a dressy, slightly funky hair accessory - easily wearable in the office, out socialising with friends or picking up the kids from school.
We're sure you'll find them indispensable once you've tried them out!
*** We try to accurately represent the silk colours in the larger swatch pictures on the website but each colour batch varies slightly due to the hand production techniques used.***
Silk Scarves for women with hair loss
Golden Olive Silk
Beautiful long tying turban scarf for hair loss in woven silk from India - colours are Antique Gold interwoven with Olive Green. Striking scarf to wear out at a drinks party. Short tassle which can be used to effect or hidden away.
Silk is slightly thicker due to two fine layers being woven together. The silk naturally creases to add soft volume when tying and drapes well. From one side to another the colour content varies - one side is more gold, the other shows the texture of the pattern with more Olive showing - so you can ring the changes depending on what you are wearing. We can guarantee you'll keep this scarf and enjoy wearing it as a scarf when your hair loss has long gone.
Care instructions suggest dry clean but a cold wash in silk soap, (we've been told by the manufacturer) would be fine. VAT will be added to this item.
Long silk turban tying scarves
We've travelled a little further afield to bring you this truly unusual cancer head scarf that doesn't look like 'patient wear'. We'll hope you'll agree this is just a beautiful fashion look, whether you're experiencing hair loss or not. Chic and exotic in soft pretty colours created by the hand dying technique, these long silk scarves can't help but make you feel pretty and feminine. Take a closer look by clicking on the swatch button below, each individual scarf has 2-3 different colours blended along its length.
Match with your favourite dress for summer or cool linen palazzo pants and tunic tops.
Breath taking colours for spring/summer in gorgeous to wear silk. Good wide dimensions and length so that you can wrap with confidence, crinkled to add texture and volume.
It can seem a little bewildering at first but take a look at our turban tying instructions, and you'll see longer scarves can be easier to tie and secure in place than bandanas. They make super stylish chemo scarves, with no tassels to get in the way, just a great look for getting out and about in the sunshine! Our model is wearing the colour Nickel Verdigris.
Red Charcoal Silk
Beautiful long tying turban scarf for hair loss in woven silk from India - colours are Poppy Red with Charcoal Grey in a pattern that resembles piano keys. Striking scarf to wear out at a drinks party. Short tassle which can be used to effect or hidden away.
Silk is slightly thicker due to two fine layers being woven together. The silk naturally creases to add soft volume when tying and drapes well. From one side to another the colour content varies - one side is redder, the other shows the pattern with more grey - so you can ring the changes depending on what you are wearing. We can guarantee you'll keep this scarf and enjoy wearing it as a scarf when your hair loss has long gone.
Care instructions suggest dry clean but a cold wash in silk soap, (we've been told by the manufacturer) would be fine. VAT will be added to this item.
Stella
Lovely 90 cms square headscarf for hair loss but nobody would know because it is just so pretty and chic. We thought it had a vintage 1950s feel to it so we gave it the 'Land Girl' treatment! If you're not feeling that adventurous, it looks great worn in a soft side bow puffed up for maximum volume, (see picture bottom left).
The scarf is nice and big so there is plenty of fabric to be able to either pleat or pull up and puff out over the crown of the head. These photographs were taken with the scarf worn over a Kimmy - adding a little volume around the head shape and warmth (!) for the cooler months of the year. This may also help you feel more secure if your concern with scarves is that they slip. This is a natural fine silk which ties securely, isn't slippy to the touch and feels super lightweight to wear. (The flip side of this is that there isn't much volume to it but the print distracts the eye so it looks like there is.) Take a closer look at the swatch...
Hair Fringe Benefits for women with hair loss
Real hair fringes
Following lots of feedback from our clients we've developed 'Fringe Benefits'. What a difference a fringe can make to any headwear! Even our lovely model couldn't believe the transformation on the day of the shoot. Here we show the 'before and after' shots - the same style with and without a fringe and we'll think you'll agree two very different looks are created.
Our 'Fringe Benefits' comfy hair bands contain realistic amounts of hair, creating a contemporary look once styled. The hair section is super wide (over 27 cms long) so that it provides a wide fringe and sections to tuck behind your ears. This gives a casual, not overly styled appearance to the fringe, and the hair could even be positioned further back onto the nape of the neck.
The fringe will need to be cut and styled to your face shape once you receive it and before wearing it. It will not need to be overly thinned. We recommend wearing it with your selected hat style to your trusted hairstylist, (who can cut it with normal hair cutting scissors), so that it is personalised for you and therefore looks beautifully realistic. This may seem like a lot of effort but it is well worth the investment and if you look after your fringe it should serve you well in the coming months.
There are no chunky stick-on velcro bands, just soft elastic and a secure fastener at the front which can attach to your favourite hats. This gives you maximum flexibility to turn any of your headwear items into hats with hair or hair scarves, on a day to day basis depending on what you want to wear. You can be confident that your new hair will stay put and look good!
If you purchase the fringe to wear with one of our styles let us know and we'll position the fastner for you. We can also supply duplicate fastners for you to sew in. (Promise! - it is no harder than sewing a button on and we'll supply instructions just incase!) Please email us if you require more information about this product and we'll be happy to help. Please note for reasons of hygiene we can not exchange this item if it has been worn, or cut in anyway. A return period of 5 days from date of dispatch is permitted incase of colour discrepancy but can only be accepted if the wig is returned unworn and with all tags attached. Item is supplied without hats illustrated.
Skincare for women with hair loss
aloe vera roll-on deodorant 2009/10 Green Beauty Bible Winner!
2010 Natural Health Beauty Awards - Highly Commended
Yes we've found it - a natural deodorant that really works! The recognition this range has received is well deserved. This award winning deodorant is refreshing and active with anti-bacterial properties, effectively neutralising BO. It isn't an anti-perspirant. The great thing about natural deodorants is that they don't contain pore-clogging Aluminium, Parabens, ethyl alcohol and artificial fragrances - particularly good if you're experiencing increased sensitivity at the moment.
I'll confess here that I've been an 'aerosol girl' for years! It's taken a little time to adapt, you'll need to give it about a 2 week trial period for your skin to adjust to this new way of balancing the bacteria naturally found on your skin. It is super gentle on the skin, and lasts all day and is suitable for people prone to eczema and psoriasis.
It is worth reading up a bit on the science here, if like me, you've never read a aerosol can label. There are two main concerns over the use of aluminium salts in deodorants and antiperspirants. The first concern relates to the use of Aluminium chloride, Aluminium chlorohydrate. These salts have the property of preventing the natural and essential function of perspiration by blocking and plugging sweat ducts and pores. The second concern relates to the possibility that the aluminium contained in these salts may be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and might have toxic effects within the body.
None of the above are present in this range of deodorants. Alunite is and this is a naturally occurring earth mineral which does contain a small percentage of aluminium as part of its molecule. However, this natural form can't penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream. Instead, it remains on the surface of the skin where it inhibits the reproduction of bacteria, the main cause of BO. Voila!-now we're all clear about that.
Barefoot SOS Face and Body Rescue Cream - 50ml
We particularly liked this rich face and body rescue remedy. An intensely rich and nourishing cream which provides welcome relief for extremely dry, irritated, sensitive and uncomfortable skin. Macadamia, Evening Primrose, Aloe Vera and Calendula deeply nourish and restore parched skin. Pure essential oils of Neroli and Chamomile provide the very light aroma to the cream, which makes it pleasant to put on but leaves no lingering aroma on the skin. It feels light and is easily absorbed by the skin, you don't need to 'work it in' and it leaves no residual 'greasiness'. This restorative product leaves skin feeling smooth and becalmed.

We particularly liked this rich body lotion because it just smells so good. A fresh summery smell, which for such a natural product is a real plus, (often they have none or smell a little too sensible!) Suitable for all skin types, (but when first using please do patch test). Especially good to apply after a bath or a shower to nourish and restore dry, sensitive skin. This silky smooth light-textured lotion is great for all over body application and contains premium botanical extracts and gently aromatic essential oils. Bliss - So Soothing Lotion Stick
Now here is a handy idea. Moisturising lotion in a solid stick format, great to carry around, no mess and a little goes a long way. The warmth of your skin allows the solid lotion to glide smoothly onto the skin and there is no need to rub it in. Great for sore and dry areas but do avoid areas where the skin has broken. (Have to state the obvious here but is never a good idea to drag or rub hard on delicate skin areas.) We received great feedback from our testers on this product, it really does seem to be packed with lots of good nourishing ingredients - super dry skin conditions such as cracked heels, flaky nails, even blisters all benefitted!

Green People Body Butter
Green People skincare have just brought out this new calming, moisturising body butter fortified with phyto actives to help clarify, soothe and balance your skin. Coconut oil rich in Vitamin E helps skin to retain its natural moisture and keeps skin feeling super soft and smooth. This skincare range is naturally free from harsh detergents and alcohol and is ideal for people with sensitive skin or conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis.

This is quite a light butter to use, work it gently into the skin and it is soon quickly absorbed. Kiss it Better – Soothing Cream
Open the lid on this little pot and it smells divine - a real treat for thirsty skin! A blend of highly soothing ingredients, pure organic Shea Butter and Vitamin E. The regenerating and healing effect of Rosehip oil and the mild antiseptic, anti-inflammatory healing properties of Calendula, all help to reduce redness and promote healing.
What sets these wonderful moisturisers from Unica apart is that they contain prebiotics, which can help fight infection. They also help the skin maintain a balance of healthy bacteria making it less hospitable for the ‘bad guys’ - such as acne and eczema. (This cream uses a natural prebiotic derived partly from one of the constituents of the chicory root.) As the formulation suggests this is a gentle cream for super sensitive skincare conditions as mentioned above, however there is a scent free option for people with a sensitivity to essential oils.
This cream isn’t sticky to use, but has rather a nice ‘clean’, fresh texture to it. Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Shampoo Neutral - organic base no scent
If you been experiencing scalp sensitivity at the initial stage of hair loss, or indeed when your hair has started to grow back in, a gentle natural shampoo might be handy. This one from Green People has a gentle formulation and doesn't contain any of the usual chemicals found in shampoos - i.e no perfume or artificial fragrance, no parabens, no phthalates, no essential oils, no Ethyl alcohol. It is formulated with aloe vera and pineapple to help soothe a sensitive scalp and green tea to help strengthen the hair (depending on what stage you're at). The tube is 200ml.
Our customers tell us they also use this product as a shower gel and wash with it. As stated on the product - neutral products are ideal for sensitive skin and suitable for eczema and psoriasis sufferers. A really useful product if you're not sure what your skin can tolerate after treatment.
Sun Lotion SPF25 - no fragrance Natural Health & Beauty magazine readers voted Green People Sun Lotions the Best!
"If you’re going to trust a range to protect your skin from the sun then this is the one."
We certainly agree, this great fragrance free sun lotion from Green People has impressed us all. Our testers with super sensitive skins have given it the thumbs up too! The sun lotion is made with Aloe Vera, Edelweiss, Green Tea and Beeswax to soothe and help retain your skin's moisture. Many women experience increased skin sensitivity when going through treatment, so is doubly essential at this time that you protect your skin from sun exposure. We do appreciate few women will be on a sun lounger soaking up the rays whilst on treatment! However we're talking about just walking out and about in the sunshine - protect your skin and particularly cover your scalp which won't be use to the higher level of sun exposure.
Or you may simply be struggling to find a scent free/shimmer free sun lotion to suit your skin type - this non pore clogging natural sun care range might be for you. Often sun lotions can contain mineral oils & silicones that create this synthetic barrier on the skin. This means the skin is less able to breathe and it can lead to skin reactions such as prickly heat. Green People's organic sun lotions do not contain these ingredients making them suitable for people with sensitive skin and those prone to allergies. None of the usual chemicals are present - Parabens, Lanolin, phthalates, artificial perfumes, petrochemicals and colourants. This award winning best protection SPF25 sun cream, is carefully formulated with more than 80% organic ingredients to keep skin beautifully moisturised.
Handy 50ml tube size for your handbag or to simply try out.
Turbans for women with hair loss
Geri - Chocolate Peacock
Geri is a stylish turban for womens hair loss which gives you two looks in one. It comes with a silk scarf (pale pinks, peach and shades of brown), so you can wear it with or without - as our model illustrates, it looks equally stylish either way. It is also available in another colourway - mauve peacock silk scarf (soft pink, mauve, Muscari blue and chocolate)with a dusky mauve jersey turban to wear underneath. See swatches below.
The turban is made from lovely soft viscose jersey and it is extremely easy to tie the scarf and then hide inside the side band. The dimensions of the silk scarf are 170 cms x 80 cms, so if you have similar scarves at home, you can ring the changes! There are also soft folds of fabric all around the hat, so that it looks good on its own, but equally important it also gives that little extra padding to wear underneath your scarf. Super versatile and machine washable - does it get any better! (Please note not the silk scarf!)
Geri Blue

It comes with a silk scarf (lavender blue and off-white spot), so you can wear it with or without - as our model illustrates, it looks equally stylish either way. The turban is made from lovely soft viscose jersey and it is extremely easy to tie the scarf and then hide behind the side band. The dimensions of the silk scarf are 170 cms x 80 cms, so if you have similar scarves at home, you can ring the changes! Jenny
Jenny is a classic turban style draped in super soft viscose jersey. It comes in 3 super smart colours for office wear, or dressing up and going out wear! Very chic in its plain understated way, all the detail is in the drape and cut of the jersey as it wraps around the head. Giving you plenty of scope to accessorise with jewellery and scarves, and maximum flexibility to co-ordinate with lots of items from your wardrobe.
The height at the top of the hat gives great shape to the head and just makes it look super glamorous without having to try too hard! Joan Collins eat your heart out! You may even be tempted to call everybody 'Darling!' whilst wearing it! (By the way no apologies for the thermal vest - it was a cold day!!
Laurie 2
This style has been v.popular so we have now released the gorgeous Liberty-like print in pretty turquoise, over a navy viscose jersey. Super summery for when the summer does arrive! There is a scrunchie knot of fabric that falls over the wearer's left ear and the base jersey turban is cut at a slight angle off to one side. This means Laurie sits elegantly on your head every time you put it on, as it just doesn't fit properly any other way! Laurie reminds me of a certain Twiggy photograph taken in the 60's or a pretty cloche from the 1920s - how would you wear this urban turban? As with all our designs this style comes sized - 51 cms right up to 61cms. Base hat is 95% viscose jersey and the trim is 100% cotton lawn. Cut around the face and elasticated at the nape of the neck for a secure fit. Washable by hand or machine washable at 30C.
Renee
The Renee turban inspired by the beautiful Liberty lawn fabric used in the trim and its Macintosh style rose detail. The trim fabric contains many colours - denim blue, deep cerise pink, lilac, navy and cream (take a look at the swatch for a closer look). Base fabric is a lovely soft viscose jersey, elasticated at the back, cut and shaped around the face. An elegant fashion turban that makes quite a statement.
Tamzin
Tamzin a new chic women's hair loss turban style for women who are perhaps heading back into the office and need to feel confident and look good. Lovely chic turban alternative to a wig in super soft, breathable viscose jersey. There are lots of different colours in this beautiful silk trim - colours that blend and fade like inky watermarks including terracotta brown, and all shades of sea green. It really is a very pretty fabric, take a closer look at the swatch to appreciate the colours and stitch work. Elasticated at the nape of the neck for super comfortable and secure wear. This style can be washed in the washing machine on a gentle wash but we'd recommend a little TLC and a hand wash to protect the delicate colouring.
Summer Hats for women with hair loss
Belle
This pretty straw visor cap for womens hair loss is available in 2 colours for summer - Cornflower Liberty and Rose Liberty. The fabric crown has a pretty 'Liberty-esque' feel to the delicate print in 100% cotton fabric. The natural straw visor is lined inside with the same fabric to avoid uncomfortable rubbing.
Great for sitting in the garden or out and about on a summer's day. The viscose jersey headband deepens the cap at the nape of the neck and keeps it securely in place. This is a pretty style and could be worn either with cool linen seperates or a summer dress. Available in all head fittings.
Emme
Great short brimmed summer hat for womens hair loss - shades the eyes and nape of your neck but you can roll up the back brim if it is catching on what you are wearing. Available in 3 colours - black, chocolate brown and denim blue - and shown here over one of our pure silk headband scarves in Rose Pink. (Please look under the Headband button for the full range of colours.) Depending on your headsize you may get some gaping at the sides of the head - rather than pull the hat right down we opted for a cool under scarf to 'fill in' around the hair line. This will of course mean you can take your hat off once back indoors and still remain fully covered.
The hat is made from a synthetic petersham ribbon which means it is virtually indestructible and pretty too! You can pack and fold loosely into your bag, take it out and it will 'pop up' as new! The brim edge is wired with brim reed which gives some stylish shape to the hat. It's a good idea to keep the delicate skin on the top of your head protected in the sunshine, either by a sunhat or good UV sun cream.
*** PLEASE NOTE ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE SMALLER HEAD SIZES 53 - 56 CMS ***
Keep It Under Your Hat 2
At this time of year we are often asked by mothers' of the bride, wedding guests, race goers how can they wear the hat of their dreams, whilst experiencing significant hair loss? There really is no need for hair loss to stop you from looking totally fabulous at your big occasion. Here is the 'Keep It Under Your Hat' turban, which is exactly what it is constructed to do but we hope you'll pass it on to any woman who needs to be in the know!
This hat turban for womens hair loss is made from soft viscose jersey with minimal fabric underneath the hat to keep you cool, whilst the 'on show' portion is softly draped for an elegant look. It creates a definite 'fashion' look and will draw admiring glances for all the right reasons! So if you really can't face the thought of having to wear your hat over your wig, this is a real alternative.
Version 2 is to be worn under a full hat i.e the crown of the head is completely covered. As you can see from our model pictures (shown without hat!) the seams are on display as they go inside the hat, and another reason for this of course is comfort. It enables us to use only one layer of fabric under the hat and that fabric is seam free next to your skin. (There is a seam running around the head fitting, but this seems to get lost as it is where the hat rests on your head.)
There is then a small draped band which fills in the nape of the neck and round the back of the ears. Once again the top tip here is for the front of the turban to disappear underneath the front brim, so that is doesn't create a harsh line around your face. When ordering or hiring your hat you must ensure the hat is at least 1 cm bigger than your head fitting size, so that the turban easily fits under the hat. Initially available in easy to co-ordinate navy, black and white. If you have a particular colour in mind please email us direct and we can always check our jersey stock to see if we can help. So hats on for this summer's high days and holidays!
Keep it Under Your Hat turban 1
At this time of year we are often asked by mothers' of the bride, wedding guests, race goers how can they wear the hat of their dreams, whilst experiencing significant hair loss? There really is no need for hair loss to stop you from looking totally fabulous at your big occasion. Here is the 'Keep It Under Your Hat' turban, which is exactly what it is constructed to do but we hope you'll pass it on to any woman who needs to be in the know!
The hat turban for womens hair loss creates a definite 'fashion' look and will draw admiring glances for all the right reasons. Our lovely model is wearing a perch hat (more than a fascinator, but much less than a full hat), this version of the 'Keep It Under Your Hat' turban is required for such styles. It is made from soft viscose jersey and has a fuller drape going around the head from crown tip to nape of neck. The wired headband attached to the hat (which keeps the hat on and upright), is tucked inside the turban, so that it disappears under the fabric. You'll still feel the hat securely sitting on your head. And if the wind gets up you can still put a hat pin through your hat and into the base turban.
The top tip to wearing this version is to ensure the brim of the hat at the front breaks the line of the turban, so that you cannnot see the turban on the forehead line. Anywhere else it is meant to be seen and you can pull down low at the nape of the neck and around the ears, if you are particularly conscious of hair loss in these areas.
There is a alternative 'Keep It Under Your Hat' turban 2 to be worn under a full hat see seperate product page. Initially both will be available in easy to co-ordinate colours - navy, black and off-white. If you have a particular colour in mind please email us direct and we can always check our jersey stock to see if we can help. So hats on for this summer's high days and holidays!
Mila
Mila a summery confection made in cotton organdie - a stunning hat for hair loss - super light to wear and rather 'tea in the garden' we think! (Cotton organdie is that super starched cotton fabric that has a crisp feel to it.) We are often asked by clients what they can wear on their head, if they've got an event to attend. Mila is a good midway point - not formal daywear by any means, but stylish wear if you want to feel and look good out and about. (You will need to wear a headscarf or Buff™ underneath the Hot Fucshia and Summer Mauve colours as you can see a vague outline of your head through the crown section.)
Soft construction, so the hat can be taken off and folded up in your bag i.e. no wired brim. Eventually Mila might lose a little of its 'crispness', simply give it a spray of hair spray to stiffen it and help it retain its full glory! Your best L'Oreal won't be required but any old can will do!

Sport Hats for women with hair loss
Rachel
So why is the Rachel style particularly sporty? Out and about meeting women I often get requests for hats that fulfill certain functions. Rachel is in response to a number of requests for a truly non-slip hat. Women who wanted a sleep hat that really stayed put throughout the night, and active women who wanted a hat to wear to the gym/yoga/run in and have every confidence that their hat would stay put - however many hours you spend doing 'Downward Dog'!
So here is Rachel. This style incorporates a non-slip silicon elastic which gently grips your head. There are minimal seams for maximum comfort, and the detail at the front adds some soft volume making it easier to wear and importantly more flattering to wear. We hope you'll find this non-slip running hat to be a really useful item for womens hair loss.
