Cool stress-free summer headwear – bring it on!
It certainly feels as if spring has arrived and talk of a water shortage should make us all feel very continental! The lighter evenings are developing nicely and the sunshine has returned. The studio is humming at the moment (not just with the sound of machines) but because there has been much to plan and organise. Here’s what we’ve been up to.
We’ve been busy developing some new styles and updating some firm favourites with new colours. The first of the updates is Bea, now available in a couple of new shades – Violet Cream is shown below, and Fuchsia Red. If this pull-on jersey style has proven useful for you, these colours will take you through the summer in style. Alma, a ‘re-think’ on the Kimmy style has also landed – thanks to one of our lovely clients who suggested it. Something soft and pretty with a little more decorative detailing was the request of the day. It comes in 2 colours and we hope you’ll consider this to be just right! There is updated photography for the Pella Floral 2 sleep hat, so that you can now see the hat style and fabric pattern from all angles.
Caps are such a popular casual style to wear, and perhaps a little unusual when they are cut and styled for hair loss, (cut low with no cut outs!). We have extended the Carrie range with a new Soft Blue colour for summer (see main pic). And Lucy has arrived (second pic in) a savvy cotton cap with stiff peak, soft viscose jersey headband to ensure coverage and secure fit. You don’t necessarily need a boat to wear it!
After the success of Maisie last summer we’ve added some more pretty summer brimmed hats to the range this year for female hair loss. Hetta and Florrie will keep you cool and shaded this summer. If you are going through treatment it is always a good idea to keep shaded from the sun, so a small brimmed hat can be a really useful item – particularly if like Hetta it can be screwed up into a handbag! (The synthetic petersham ribbon used in the style pops back up as good as new.) These styles are lightweight and could easily be worn with a colourful fine cotton or silk bandana underneath.
The new long turban tying cotton scarf colours have also arrived, so we hope you’ll be spoiled for choice when ‘wafting’ through the garden or supermarket, depending on how the day is going. Don’t forget if you do wear a wig the majority of the time and you are concerned about managing the warmer weather there is our excellent fringe wig alternative – just a small amount of hair showing can make such a difference to a hat (see main pic above.) The real hair is sewn into a narrow band of elastic which can then popper into your headwear – quick to assemble and super cool when worn with the right headwear. A practical alternative to consider when managing female hair loss in the heat.
One final reminder – if you are managing a medical hair loss condition many of our items can be supplied VAT free to you. If you would like more information about this please give us a call in the studio we’ll be happy to help.
Roll on summer….
